The Grand Haven Croquet Club thanks the following players from other clubs, who participated in the Flagler Cup.

Last weekend, under blue skies and perfect weather, the 2026 Flagler Cup Tournament produced a weekend of impressive 6 wicket croquet and many tightly contested matches. This event attracted 6 players from other clubs, 4 of whom were in the Championship Flight.
Grand Haven was well represented in the Doubles Final with Gloria Gordon and Ponte Vedra’s Brett Fullerton winning a close contest over Peter Gordon and Mike Debitetto. This was a back-and-forward battle until the last ball. The team of Billy Roche and Sarasota’s Michael Kukla took the Plate.
The singles finals also produced some excellent croquet. Billy Roche beat Mike Debitetto to win the 2nd Flight Final, with Greg Presley from Naples CC taking the Plate. Howard Chodak won the 1st Flight Final beating Gary Gamble. Dave Paukovich took the 1st Flight Plate. The Championship Flight was won by Michael Kukla who beat Brett Fullerton. Ponte Vedra’s John Curington took the Championship Plate. Congratulations to all!
GHCC members really stepped up in numerous ways to make this tournament a real success. Huge thanks to Dorothy Silliman who took over the role of Tournament Director at the last minute, when Macey White was unable to travel south, and did a fabulous job. Thanks to Macey who continued to provide invaluable logistical support and advice from afar. Thanks to all our club members who came out to help as board keepers and referees.
Thanks to Dana Silliman for making sure the courts were perfectly set up each morning.
Thanks to Gloria Gordon and Jane Stanton for coordinating lunches each day.
And, special thanks to Carmen and Billy Roche, Jim Boyd and everyone on the Social Team, who provided excellent hospitality support throughout the tournament.
