Italian Night at Creekside
A definitely festive air prevailed as everyone became Italian for an evening of fellowship and Italian food at the Creekside Club House on Saturday October 12th, Columbus Day. Italian dress for the occasion was encouraged (although it seemed there were many interpretations as to what that might be) and prizes were awarded for the “most Italian” garb.

Between dinner and dessert, Presidente Cassia Gasiori, paid tribute to the guest of honor, Pat Williams, for her years of service to the Grand Haven Croquet Club. A cake was presented to Pat with the understanding that she had to share it with those present. Pat, who has now moved back to Hammock Dunes, participated in the growth and development of the Grand Haven Croquet Club from its earliest days. Over the last 12 years she has served in many positions, both on the Board and as a teacher. Cass spoke of their joint tenure as lead instructors of the Friday Clinic.
By an odd “coincidence”, it was Pat who was awarded the first prize (a bottle of red wine) for looking the “most Italian”, although there was some question about the interference and possible bias of the Godfather in the decision. Arrivederci Pat!
The many color photos were taken by our very professional club photographer, Bobbi Carlsennelli.

Webmaster's note: Grazie to Ms Gaizor and Mr Carlsen for their artistic contributions. Blame the webmaster for the poor Italian comments.
