The Sarasota County Croquet Club - Fall Invitational was held October 28-30, 2011 at Pinebrook Park in Venice, FL. The Grand Haven Croquet Club was represented by Antonia & Vincent Marmo at this USCA sanctioned event.

Tournament Recap:
The weather did not cooperate. Friday’s games were played in the rain; Saturday, there was light rain in the morning and very high winds in the afternoon; Sunday was a warm sunny day, perfect for the finals.
There were 3 Flights; Championship (Handicaps .-05 - 5), First Flight (Handicaps 7 - 10), and Second Flight (Handicaps 10 - 12) for a total of 24 players.

Antonia & Vincent enjoyed the SCCC Tournament, the warm friendships, and the activities. The first night they attended a Pot Luck Reception at the Club and the 3rd night they went to dinner at the Venice Cafe Restaurant & Wine Bar.

Vincent Marmo played in the Championship Flight against players with much lower handicaps. After losing all three games the first day, he came back the second day with two wins and one loss, which qualified him for the semifinals. On the first game of the semifinals he lost against a player with a 0.5 handicap, got eliminated, but came back home with 4 points. |

Antonia Marmo played in the 1st Flight and finished the block in second place. In the semifinals, she won the first game, but lost the final. She ended up taking home the 2nd Place Trophy in her flight and lowered her handicap from 9 to 8. |

Sarasota County Croquet Club Invitational Winners: Championship - Alan Cottle & Jackie Jones 1st Flight - Ralph Moore & Antonia Marmo 2nd Flight - John Donohue & Iris Shadrick Trophies were awarded to the 1st & 2nd Place winners of each flight. |
