Hallofest - 2011
Saturday, October 22, 2011
The Grand Haven Croquet Club gathered on the lawns on a chilly October morning to celebrate Hallofest, the merger of Halloween & Oktoberfest. The origin of Halloween comes from the Gael’s old Irish celebration of their Summer’s end, October 31. Oktoberfest was the celebration by Prince Ludwig of Bavaria on October 12, 1810.
Everyone arrived wearing Halloween costumes in hopes of winning a fabulous prize for best replication attire. The weather was chilly but sunny. George provided an array of beverages & snacks, but no Hot Chocolate or Hot Toddies, perhaps next year.
