Pinehurst, NC The Pinehurst Invitational was held September 21 - 25, 2011. The Grand Haven Croquet Club was represented by Antonia & Vincent Marmo at this USCA sanctioned event. The Marmo’s stayed at the Carolina Vista, a Four-Diamond Resort that was within walking distance to the croquet courts and the Pinehurst Spa. The century-old hotel had a signature copper cupola and verandas complete with white rocking chairs. 
Vincent & Antonia report that they had a good time at the tournament.
The event was well planned, with fun parties, good games, and even a little rain on the second day flooding the courts. Surprisingly, there was very good drainage and were quick to dry out to resume play.

The Marmo’s were expecting to know only a few people, but were pleasantly surprised when they got there, they knew at least 16 other players that they had met from other tournaments.
It was like playing at home!

Vincent & Antonia both made progress toward lowering their handicaps. Vincent brought home a doubles trophy and a new handicap - going from 6 to 5! |
